Hose Cutting Tools – Did you know that the #1 cause of coupling failure is not having a square cut hose? It’s true. The hose needs to sit completely flush in the ends of your couplings. Any place for air and abrasive to sneak out of will cause a failure over time. To help prevent this, use a hose cutting tool to make sure you have a square or flush cut end whenever you’re doing a hose repair, putting on a new coupling, or even when you get a new hose. Keep in mind that even new hoses are not exactly square from the factory. We use a hose cutter here at the shop to cut your hose to size, but if you buy a bulk roll, you may want to invest in a hose cutter to cut your blast hose to length with some nice clean square ends.
This hose cutter not only makes the cut square, but it’s also easy and safer than using a knife or blade. The cutter is on a ratchet system to make cutting up to a 2-1/2″ blast hose easy enough to do with one hand. I say 2-1/2″ because that’s is the max size you can fit in this cutter. That’s okay though, since all the hoses you see on our site will fit in these cutters.
